Murder in Ponyville Epilogue

"Helloo~," Pinkie Pie called to Rainbow Dash, who was sleeping on a cloud above Ponyville, "wake up, Rainbow Dash!"

Rainbow Dash groaned and rolled over, still half asleep. It took her a moment to realize that she had rolled right off of her cloud. This realization, however, make her fully alert. She quickly opened her wings to stop herself from landing at full speed, and began flapping them, quickly lowering her falling speed. Rainbow Dash landed softly on the ground in front of Pinkie Pie.

"That was close," Pinkie Pie said excitedly, "you should be more careful when you take those cloud-naps!"

"heh heh," Rainbow Dash let out a relieved laugh, "Yeah... I probably should. I've never done that before."

"Oh," Pinkie Pie said in her usual, excited tone, "Hey, don't you need to be at Rarity's place? I couldn't make it, I have to prepare for-"

"Oh my gosh, I'm late," Interrupted Rainbow Dash. "Sorry, Pinkie," She said, opening her wings, "I got to fly." She took off toward Rarity's house before Pinkie Pie could say anything.

"I'm never late..." Rainbow Dash said to herself as she soared through the sky, as fast as her wings would allow her.She was already half way to Rarity's shop, and she could see it in the distance.

Rainbow Dash slowed her flight as she approached Rarity's shop. She spiraled it three times, lowering her altitude more each time. She landed in front of Rarity's door, which was open. 'Rarity never leaves her door open...,' Thought Rainbow Dash. She thought nothing more of it, and called out, "Rarity, your door is open!"

She waited patiently for a response, and when she got none, she said, "Okay, I'm coming in then!" Rainbow Dash entered the shop on foot, walking casually toward the center of the large room. She quickly noticed an open door off to the side. 'she must be in there,' she thought as she walked toward it.

The first thing Rainbow Dash saw when she entered the room was Rarity, who was sitting on a stool next to a table. The table had all kinds of sewing objects located on it, such as a sewing machine, yarn, and cloth. Rainbow Dash walked quietly towards Rarity. "Wake up, sleepyhead, "she said, giving her a light shake.

Rarity's body fell to the left, landing on the far right ponyquin, causing three of them to fall over, and a blanket to be knocked off of a fourth. Rainbow Dash looked at Rarity, shocked, and realized she wasn't breathing. 'Oh Celestia, she's dead...'

Rainbow Dash began backing out of the room when she noticed the large purple mass on one of the ponyquins. She walked back into the room, powered by curiosity, and uncovered them. When she realized what she saw, her heart sank. The purple mass was the sewn remains of Twilight Sparkle.

Rainbow Dash stared at the other four in awe as she saw the other two dresses that Rarity had made. There was a matching one for Applejack and Fluttershy. After a minute, Rainbow Dash began to cry.

She turned and flew out of Rarity's house as fast as she could, nearly colliding with the door-frame, her vision blurred by tears. The moment she got outside, she veered to the left and landed in the grass, skidding to a halt. She emptied the contents of her stomache upon the ground to the left, and collapsed onto the ground to the right. She began to cry, harder than she had when she had gotten the news that Gilda had killed herself.

'I should do just that,' she thought, 'I have no one left, I should just fly as high as I can, and close my wings and fall... just like this morning...' Her thoughts floated to Pinkie Pie, returning some hope to her. 'No,' she thought, snapping herself out of her suicidal rage, 'I need to go see Pinkie Pie.'

Rainbow Dash stood up, shakily, and took a deep breath. There were still tears falling from her eyes, blurring her vision, but she took off, only slightly more difficultly than normal. The familiarity of flying in no way helped her take her mind off of what was happening, and in fact, it made it worse. Her eyes poured out tears, which were instantly torn away by the air moving past her. She barely noticed the rain that had started or Sugar-cube Corner as she approached it.

Rainbow Dash clumsily landed in front of Pinkie Pie's door, he body collapsing upon itself with her trembling legs. Rainbow Dash let out a sob as she pushed herself up, taking great effort. She slowly walked toward the door of Sugar-cube Corner, lifted her hoof, and began banging on the door.

Before the third knock, Pinkie Pie had opened the door. "Hiya," Pinkie Pie said in greeting to Rainbow Dash, "why are you out in the rain?"

"Everypony is dead, "Rainbow Dash said quietly.

"What are you talking about," Pinkie Pie said confused, "There are plenty of ponies right outside!" Pinkie Pie pointed past Rainbow Dash toward Lyra and Bonbon, who were sitting under an umbrella, having lunch.

"No, damn it, Pinkie Pie," Rainbow Dash said angrily, letting a sob escape her, "Not everypony, just..." Rainbow Dash broke down crying.

As soon as Pinkie Pie noticed she was crying, she went into serious business mode. "Come inside, warm yourself up, I'll make you feel better right away," She said in a motherly tone.

Rainbow Dash nodded and walked into the bakery. The warm air inside made her feel nice, and she finally realized how long she's been standing in the rain. She felt weighed down by water, which didn't help her shaky legs.

Pinkie Pie brought her a towel to dry herself off with. "Make yourself at home," she said, handing Rainbow Dash the towel, "I'll be right back, I'm going to make you a nice sweet treat to take your mind off things." Pinkie Pie retreated into the kitchen.

Rainbow Dash dried herself off, and picked a large red chair to sit down in. She could hear Pinkie Pie making noise from the kitchen. She heard pots and pans banging against each other, cupboards opening and their contents being moved around, and finally, the sound of the oven closing. Within seconds, a sweet aroma filled the room.

Pinkie Pie walked back into the room wearing a brown apron that made her look outrageous. Rainbow Dash let out a soft laugh, reassuring Pinkie Pie that she was going to be alright with time.

"Those tasty treats will be ready in a few minutes," Pinkie Pie said calmly, "In the mean time, do you think you could tell me what happened?"

"Yeah," Rainbow Dash said quietly, "I can try..." Rainbow Dash turned her gaze to the floor as she recalled the events of that day. "...and then I uncovered them... and... and... Fluttershy, Twilight, and Applejack were dead... Rarity killed them and... turned them into dresses... then I came here."

The oven timer went off, causing Rainbow Dash to flinch. Pinkie Pie hurried into the kitchen to retrieve her 'tasty treats'. She was back in less than a minute, holding a tray of rainbow colored cupcakes.

"Here, have one of these, it'll make you feel better." Pinkie Pie handed Rainbow Dash a cupcake.

Rainbow Dash ate the small cupcake in one bite, barely chewing it. It tasted wonderful, partially taking her mind off everything. She let out a long yawn, and realized how tired she was.

"Go right ahead, Rainbow Dash... take a nap."

The last thing Rainbow Dash heard as she passed into the world of dreams was Pinkie Pie's laughter...
